EASYPVM in more detail

EASYPVM offers the following features that are not available in PVM or would have otherwise required re-inventing the wheel every time a new PVM-program is coded:

• A simplified process creation under
  • HOST-NODE programming model
  • NODE-only programming model through generic HOST-program

• Graceful process exits with the careful PVM-daemon shutdowns

• Generic send()/recv() -routines that access data in elements rather than bytes

• Global operations including global syncronization, sum, prod, dot product, max/min, concatenation and complete exchange

• send()/recv() -operations with 2D-matrix sub-blocks

• Broadcast, Multicast, Store-Forward, SendRecv -functions

• Simple activation of the performance monitoring via PICL/ParaGraph

• Process creation and exit
