1. Program Description
=======================

A networking calendar/scheduling system. The easy way for any organization to have
a networking scheduler within minutes! Calendar management is implemented at two levels:
manager and users. The each user maintains his own calendar, and Workgroup manager can
manage all calendars. You can even set network alarms to remind the whole office of an
important event, like a meeting, in real-time. Each user has a unique label and a caption
to display within the calendar. The program will show the complete list of active connections.
The OrgScheduler LAN is built upon the interface options introduced in Microsoft Outlook.
It includes importing from Outlook, exporting to Outlook, text, HTML, XML and Excel formats.
It features different time display options in the day view, 149 event coloring types to
indicate an event's kind and importance, automatic hints that display an event's start and end
time together with its caption, multiple look and feel styles, event recurrence control.
The LAN-version gives you a customizable Resource Navigator, new Date Navigator, a comprehensive
reminder, control over the events overlapping and a mechanism for sharing events between an
arbitrary number of different resources (users). With OrgScheduler, you can use e-mail or SMS
to send appointments, reminders and invitations to colleagues, friends and family members.
You can format the calendar according to your regional settings. It provides many types of
views: Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year, All Days or Work Days only and vertical, horizontal

Whether you have a computer dedicated as a network server or a basic Windows-based peer-to-peer
network, OrgScheduler LAN can easily be installed and used in your office.
You can use the instructions below.

1. Choose your server computer. You can choose any computer in your LAN as data server.
If you have the download zip file (OrgSchedulerLAN.zip), unzip the file into a temporary
directory and run self-extracting file OrgManagerSetup.exe , run the file to start the installation.
After you have installed OrgScheduler LAN (OrgManager), the program starts automatically.

2. On other PCs in the LAN, if you have the download zip file (OrgSchedulerLAN.zip),
unzip the file into a temporary directory and run self-extracting file OrgUserSetup.exe,
run the file to start the installation. After you have installed OrgScheduler LAN (OrgUser),
the program starts automatically.

NOTE: If your computer has two or more network interface cards, you can specify the network interface
on which you want to place the OrgSchedulers traffic. Use the Traffic Management to choose the network
card. This option allows the application to communicate with other computers on your subnet only.
Select the appropriate card from the list and click Save. If you are not sure, contact your network
administrator for assistance.

Firewall settings (OrgManager).
-------------------------------

The OrgManager has a built-in server ("OrgServer"). When users cannot connect to server, please
check the following possible reasons:

Your server computer has a firewall.
1. OrgServer uses port 8764, 8767 and 8769 to communicate with OrgUsers.
You need to open TCP port 8764, TCP port 8767 and UDP port 8769 on the firewall and forward the traffic to the server
computer.

2. You need to add OrgManager to the firewall's exception list.

NOTE: By default Windows Firewall will ask you if you want to add a program to the exception list
the first time you use the program.
Windows Firewall will prompt you with: "Do you want to keep blocking this program?" You will be
asked to choose one of these options: "Keep blocking," which will block the application permanently
and you won't be prompted again. If you do try to access it again, the application will simply not
work ("Asynchronous Socket Error 10060"). "Unblock" removes the block permanently and allows the
application to work as it was designed to. "Ask Me Later" unblocks now but will always continue
to ask you any time you try to access the application.

Choose "Unblock"!

Or
You can use the following instructions to manually add an exception in the firewall's configuration:

1. From the Start menu go to the Control Panel and open the Windows Firewall control panel.
2. In the Windows Firewall control panel, click the Exceptions tab.
3. Check (enable) the "OrgManager" choice.
