Brightness: 4, 5 Alt: 35° Description: NGC 6840: Visible at 48x as a small clump of stars. 97x: Ten stars within 5'. Oblong NE-SW. Most stars in two subgroups, brightest mag. 11.5. Might be a real cluster. Orig. descr. W. Herschel (1784): "A S. forming Cl. of st." J. Herschel (1833): "A small poor cluster; the preceeding of two distinct clusters. The stars 11m." NGC 6843: Suspected at 48x as a eF grainy glow. 97x: Smaller and more difficult than -40. Size 5'. Brightest stars (mag. 12) N and S. Quite difficult in this weather but exists. Orig. descr W.
