Brightness: 4 Alt: 75° Description: A small compact group of stars mag. 12... Diameter 3'. A dozen stars. Round. The 3 brightest stars are in a small triangle (40'') in the middle. J. Herschel: "A small pretty close cluster. Irreg. R; 3' diam; stars 12...16" Note: My own description was written before I saw the J.H.'s description. 100% sure that this is NGC 6856.
