Quite good but cold. Brightness: Alt: Description: 3 galaxies in a small group of 3 stars SW of the core of the galaxy cluster. IC 3949 (14.3m (v), 1.0'x0.2', SA0p sp, Br5): Brightest of 3. Very faint, elliptical about 3:1, size 35''x10''. PA about 90°. No nucleus or core (this probably IS only the core of the galaxy). This galaxy is within the trangle of bright (12-13m) stars. IC 3846 (14.0m (v), 0.7'x0.4', SA0 sp, Br5): 2' SW of -49. Very faint and small. Seems slightly elliptical (2:1?) when seeing is good. PA unsure. Somewhat concentrated. IC 3959 (15.3m (b), 0.5', E3, Br5): Extremely faint and small. Round, not concentrated. (15.3m (b), 0.5', E3, Br5b) Barely visible with the 8-incher.
