Brightness: see below Alt: 50° Description: A nice field with an obvious galaxy cluster. I think this cluster is better than A1656 or A1367 with an 8-incher because the central parts are very concetrated. The brightest galaxy is NGC 708 (13.7m (p), 3.1'x2.5', E, Br4): Slightly elliptical, faintly visible even without averted vision. Only 2' W is NGC 703 (13.2m (v), 1.2'x0.9', S0-:, Br5): Round, very faint but clearly visible. Easier than the next two but fainter than ngc 710. S of NGC 708 are NGC 704 & 705. NGC 705 (14.6m (p), 1,2'x0.3', S0, Br5) is closer to -08. Very small (20''-30''), round, sharply brighter in the middle towards a mag. 15 non-stellar nucleus. NGC 704 (14.1m, C, Br5) is more compact than -05 => brighter than -5. About 30'', broadly concentrated but no nucleus. SE from the center is NGC 710 (13.6m (v), 1.3'x1.3', Scd:, Br5): Faint but easily visible with averted vision. Diameter about 30''. Round. The 5th brightest galaxy in the field is NGC 709 (14.2m (v), Br5) is between a wide pair of quite bright (11-12m) pair of stars N of the central group. very small (30''), Round, quite concentrated. Easy with averted vision.
