Brightness: 3, 3 Alt: Description: The easiest spiral structure (maybe M33 is easier). A classic. The spiral is quite easy even though the weather is not the best possible. Several brightenings are obvious, the easiest being the patch around the mag. 13 star in the disk SSW of the nucleus. Other bright arcs are found E and S from the core in the 'N' arm and two small knots in the 'S' arm. NGC 5195: The E side is largely obscured by a dust patch. Core maybe even brighter than in M 51.
