The main body is broadly concentrated and slightly asymmetrical, the N side being brighter. No core or nucleus. The brightening on the N side (=NGC 4657) is slightly fainter than the main body but still easy. The galaxy bends 90° towards SE and. The brigtening is slightly mottled.
