Some very faint aurora bor. Good. Brightness: see below Alt: 75° Description: There is an beautiful cluster in this field - but it's not where St 12 should be! The only clusterlike object lies at RA 23h 35.8m, Dekl. +52°40' (J2000). This cluster (referred as JVK 1 from now on): Size 20'. A dozen bright stars (mag. 8- 10) and another dozen stars mag. 11... A nice triple star in the center. Est. mag. 6.5 28' SE lies a larger (30'x20') group of stars. About a dozen dozen 10m and 10-15 mag. 12-13. Needs imagination to see any concentration of stars, though. The area has two long (20-30') chains of stars and many doubles. This group is much closer to the given position of St 12 but size and type don't match. I think the solution is JVK1 = Stock 12 and the coords of St 12 should changed to those of JVK 1, size=20', #stars=25, Tr-type= III 2 p. The other group is probably just a faint asterism and is not interesting. I don't have Lyngå's catalogue with me so I cannot check his data of this cl right now.
