In the current (March '95) issue of Sunset Magazine, there's an article on Washington's beaches, and a picture (pg 35) of a lone buggier on a Cobra buggy, looks to be flying an older (rectangular) Force 10 foil.. It's a shot from the rear, so the guy's face isn't shown but I'd guess it's Dave Lord or Morrie Williams ?? He's not identified in the article or caption.. Does anyone know who this is?? -- Dan Rubesh GO Wind Wizard windwiz@west.net FLY A P.O. You're right, Dan. That's Dave Lord on the buggy. That same shot, photographed by Michael O'Leary, an old friend and former Everett Herald Staff Photograper, appeared in the Everett Herald Thurs. Nov. 30, 1995 and was taken at Grayland (actually Washaway Beach) the second weekend of October, 1995 when the Northwest Buggy Pilots Association had one of our very first get-togethers. Michael now works as a freelance and stock photographer. The Herald article included interviews of John Podmajerski, of Bothel, WA and myself just after returning from our trip to Alvord, in Oregon. The article generated quite a bit of interrest in buggying in Everett (Well, 6 or 8 ready buyers). There was a reference to the kite shop in the article as well as URLs listed for Dave's and other buggy pages. Poor Erv and Gail Crosby (Four Winds Kite Shop, Everett) had people comming in the shop all ready to buy buggies and kites. They stock several suitable kites but no buggies. It took a quick call to Fran for fast information! Don't know if any of the newcommers have actually buggied yet, but they've all been invited to try it out at upcomming events. Would have been nice if Sunset had included more information! -- Mike Eason or Media Specialist, Everett Community College, Everett, Washington, USA Pres, SCI-FI (Snohomish County Incredible Flying Individuals Kite Club) Organizers of: Jetty Island Kite Festival, 7/96 Washington State Sport Kite Championship, Casey Conf.
