I had heard earlier this year that there would be an AKA event at Mitchell Field on Long Island, New York around Labor Day. I haven't heard anything further about it, and wonder if anyone has an information about any AKA (or other) event on Long Island. (I'm hoping to get to actually see some of these weird moves that keep getting discussed) TIA Frank (the other one- not nasty at all) = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 1 Aug 1995 10:51:57 -1000 From: hayden1009@aol.com (Hayden1009) Message-Id: <3vm45d$nl4@newsbf02.news.aol.com> Organization: America Online, Inc. The standard precision and ballet events will be held as well as Intermediate Team events and Magical Mystery Team Ballet (3 names drawn out of a hat, kites supplied, music begins and the 3 fly a team ballet). Thank, Suzie...having participated in 2 Magical Mystery Pairs Ballets, this should be a blast. Also, if weather is good and it is anything like last year, local and early arrivals headed to Jones Beach Field 6 on the Friday before for their own fun and flying. The Mitchel Field Sports Complex is hidden between the Nassau Collesium (to the east), Nassau Community College & Aviation Museum (to the north), Hofstra University (to the south). Turn north at the light between the Nassau Collesium & Hofstra's Health Dome. At the 3rd light make a left turn into the left lane. Pass 2 office buildings and make a left into the Complex. Actually, the winds are usually fairly decent at this event, despite the surroundings. Drop by, bring friends, co-workers, family, whoever.
