Anyone out there live in the London area and do any flying. I've been flying here for about a year and a half, but always in the same places. I need some inside info on good places to fly a 8' flexi and my deltas. Look forward to hearing from someone soon, Andy Rogers Plaistow, London = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Wed, 5 Oct 1994 01:49:49 -1000 From: mr@datcon.co.uk (Martin Richards) Message-Id: <1994Oct5.114949.24382@datcon.co.uk> Organization: Data Connection Limited Subject: Re: Flying in the SE of GB Rogers (yankee@dcs.qmw.ac.uk) wrote: : Hello... : Anyone out there live in the London area and do any flying. Where do you fly currently? Hampstead heath is pretty good, 'specially if you enjoy attempting to decapitate all the people gawping at you ;) (yes, it gets quite busy at weekends) Chingford is also quite fun - just by the station, there's a 'plain' that's quite windy, but beware of aero-modellers on Sundays. A bit further out, Dunstable Downs and Ivinghoe beacon are good sized hills, and seem to be permanently windy (no breeze down below == enough breeze to pull my wife over at the top!) They're about all the places I've found so far, but I haven't been looking that hard (I'm not a complete addict yet...). Cheers, Martin. If Andrew Beattie doesn't reply, and you wish to try a differant tack, try my B.B.S. called Index 3 on 0602 855607 or 855661 ( Nottingham ), we have our own area for kiters in his East Midlands Area. ( EM_KITES ) and ask there. I recall someone just asking this question just lately. Just looked it up, Mike Millen gave the reply of ' Try contacting Geoff Adams ( 0442 833736 ) or Carol Peacock ( 0727 862971 ). they are members of the Nomansland Kite Flyers '. I hope this helps.
