This is my first posting to rec.kites. Well, does anyone recommend me some good kite shop around San Francisco bay area? Because I want to buy some during my stay in US, next month. I bought a small kite last spring, and started stunt kiting. Stunt kiting becomes popular, and several festivals or competitions being held here in Japan. However, we can find only few kite shop even in Tokyo area. In addition, the price of kites is very high I think. For instance, the kite I bought(Peter Powell Sky Raker basic) was costed $200 including the line. I think it must be too expensive from USA kiter's point of view. Isn't it? Anyway, any kind of information would be appreciated. Remember I am just a beginner of stunt kiting. Thanks in advance. -- -- [ Toru AWASHIMA | awash@ohtsuki.comm.waseda.ac.jp ] [ Waseda University | ] [ 3-4-1 Okubo, Shinjuku | +81 3-3203-4141 ext.73-3422 (V) ] [ Tokyo 169, JAPAN | +81 3-3200-2567 (F) ] = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Subject: Re: Kite shop in SF bay area Message-ID: <1992Oct6.164523.12870@netcom.com> From: steveth@netcom.com (Steve Thomas) Date: Tue, 6 Oct 1992 16:45:23 GMT Organization: VisionAire, San Francisco, CA In article awash@ohtsuki.waseda.ac.jp (Toru AWASHIMA) writes: > >Hello. The only kite store left in the Bay Area is Kite Flite on Pier 39, San Francisco. There are a couple of van-dealers, most notible being Highline Kite of Berkely, at the Berkely marina. Kite Flite is a very good store, and has a very good selection of both dual and single line kites. > >I bought a small kite last spring, and started stunt kiting. >Stunt kiting becomes popular, and several festivals or competitions >being held here in Japan. I'm don't know too much about the Peter Powell line, but $200 of a beginner-class sport kite is about too much... ____ Steve Thomas steveth@rossinc.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
