We want to buy a kite sleeving kit and it seems silly to buy one from a mail order catelogue when shipping and handling is $3, almost as much as the sleeving kit. A sleeving kit is nothing more than a short length of braded dracron (about 3ft, of around 150 to 200 lb strength) and a wire that is about 2ft in lenght folded in half and twisted to form a small ilet at the end to thread your line into the sleeving. So, My suggestion would be order a 500ft roll of braided dacron, pay the $3 shipping charges and buy a great single line kite to use the 497ft of line that you have left over. If you ever need to sleeve some more line just cut some more off. Almost forgot..piano wire works great. Hope this helps. If you know how to sleeve, all you need is some wire (piano wire, steel wire, guitar string, blunt needle...) and a bit of line that is either hollow or has a core that you can pull out. You owe the Kite-Oracle a round shoelace and a G-string. Andrew -- Yes Karen, some of us *do* care! Netiquette-of-the-day: Take care to attribute quotes correctly. The Baltimore one is "Kite Loft" at (410) 528-0888, and the Annapolis one is "Kites Up & Away" at (410) 263-4628. I got this info. from "KiteLines" magazine (quarterly), and each store should carry it. If you've never read it, it's a good source of info. on the current kite scene. Hope this helps.
